Zerynth & ISAC

At the IoT Solutions World Congress in Barcelona, Zerynth and ISAC showed the potential of IoT technology and artificial intelligence for optimizing the productivity of CNC machine tools equipped with PLCs.

Thanks to the use of Industry 4.0 solutions, it is now possible to connect industrial machinery in a plug-and-play, fast, and secure way, allowing real-time monitoring of production data, process efficiency, and productivity optimization.

Today, thanks to IoT technology, it is possible to enable Artificial Intelligence on any modern or legacy type of machinery, thus allowing the enhancement of machine data, the efficiency of industrial production, and the reduction of costs and energy consumption.

Optimize the productivity of CNC machinery

Zerynth and ISAC have allowed the creation of a demo, able to show simply and clearly how it is now possible to connect any industrial machinery, even when equipped with a PLC, thanks to IoT technology and artificial intelligence systems.

ISAC has made available a CNC suitable for controlling machine tools and a simulator of the machine tool itself (SIMON) capable of interacting with the CNC itself and reproducing the conditions of use of the physical machine.

The Zerynth Industrial IoT & AI Platform has been connected to the ISAC CNC via the OPC-UA protocol to monitor its operation in real-time, obtain visibility on the production data, detect any anomalies, and display the productivity parameters (OEE calculation).

By simply connecting the Zerynth platform, it was possible:

• Remotely connect the machine
• Gain visibility into machine productivity
• Notify any anomalies
• Update the processes that the machine must perform

Through a single dashboard, full visibility is given to the operation of the production machinery controlled by the ISAC automation system, showing real-time data and making it possible to analyze performance and evaluate new strategies for optimizing processes.
